Sol-gel process and high-temperature property of SiO2/ZrO2-SiO2 composites

摘要
SiO2/ZrO2-SiO2 composites were fabricated by the sol-gel process, and their high-temperature flexural properties were explored. The oxidation behavior at 1200 degrees C and 1500 degrees C was also investigated. At high temperature, the composites showed typical brittle fracture. SiO2/ZrO2-SiO2 composites had higher flexural strength and elastic modulus at high temperature than SiO2/SiO2 composites. SiO2/ZrO2-SiO2 composites, which were fabricated by sol-gel process, showed a higher high temperature lifetime.
