摘要
Paper presents technique to reduce cogging torque of two standard rating motors by magnet segmentation technique. Initially permanent magnet BLDC motor is designed without magnet segmentation and then after magnet segmentations is varied from 1 to 4 segments. Cogging torque profile is obtained using finite element(FE) method. Peak to peak cogging torque is reduced from 0.574 N.mto 0.155 (i.e. 72.9 %) in 70 W, 350 rpm motor and 1.870 N.m to 0.732 N.m (i.e. 60.8 %) in 100 W,1500 rpm motor. Hence it is worthwhile in cogging torque reduction.
