摘要
In this paper, a semi analytical model for magnet losses calculation in high speed permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) is presented and verified. It is based on a rapid FE computation of the flux density inside magnets. An analytical formulation is established in order to better estimate eddy current losses wave from the magnetic flux density form. This model gives a tradeoff between accuracy and computation time. The method can be used to optimize the magnet segmentation in both axial and circumferential directions for a loss reduction purpose. The proposed model was correlated using 3D FE analysis for several geometric configurations and thermal measurements for an existing motor.
