Mediated electron exchange between an electrode and the tip of a scanning tunneling microscope - a stochastic approach

摘要
We consider electron exchange between a metal electrode and the tip of a scanning tunneling microscope via an adsorbed intermediate state. The exchange is supposed to occur through resonant tunneling while the system moves stochastically on the free energy surface. We have performed model calculations for various system parameters, and offer a new interpretation of experimental data. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
