摘要
The introduction of uniform safety regulations regarding hot works at temporary workplaces in Sweden has proved to be the key to success in the struggle to reduce an alarming number of fires caused by hot works. Mandatory education of workers, fire watches and safety officers have already and will in the future involve hundreds of thousand individuals, who will increase their qualifications as well as their safety awareness. The full co-operation between all the Swedish insurance companies has been the determining route to successful prevention activities. The link between the insurance policy wordings and the safety regulations has been apprehended as an efficient way of urging anyone who is planning to organize hot works to consider the economic sanctions (reduced compensation from the insurance company) which become effective in case the safety regulations are ignored.
