The intramolecular cyclization of bromothiophene derivatives with hexamethylditin in the presence of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) gave dithienothiophenes, cyclopentadithiophene, and silacyclopentadithiophenes in moderate to good yields. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd
