摘要
A study of the effects of temperature and water-saturation on the mechanical properties of the Lac du Bonnet pink granite was carried out. The water-saturated specimens were observed to display lower stress values associated with crack initiation, unstable crack growth and failure when compared with dry specimens. The higher the temperature (up to 125 degrees C), the greater is the water-weakening effect. The combination of water-saturation and temperature had only a small effect on the tangent Young's modulus, and no apparent effect on the Poisson's ratio.
