摘要：
This short review paper in the Special session 'Professor Shon Ffowcs Williams and Aeroacoustics' describes how recent advances in jet noise modelling are directly linked to the pioneering approaches developed by Lighthill and Ffowcs Williams. Recent modelling developments enable jet noise to be accurately predicted and the noise reduction from geometrical modifications such as chevrons and microjets to be predicted and optimized.
