摘要
Domino effect is responsible for several catastrophic accidents that took place in the chemical and process industry. However, the well established and widely accepted procedure and threshold criteria in the domino effect analysis of major hazard installations (MHIs) are still missing. A procedure used for domino effect analysis of MHIs is discussed. Threshold criteria for escalation vector such as radiation, overpressure and fragments are summarized. The domino effect index of an MHI is analyzed. A case study has been demonstrated. The results of case study can be used for prioritize of MHIs by company safety managers and regulators.
