摘要
The high groundwater temperature of a geothermal aquifer can possibly influence the seismic response, decreasing the PGA values and causing non-linear features such as liquefaction initiation during strong earthquake. This was derived after implementing non-linear site response analysis at a known geothermal field, at Polichnitos, Lesvos Island, Greece, which was recently struck by a magnitude Mw6.3 destructive earthquake, on June 12, 2017. The performed research was based on a seismic survey at the study area, strong motion data of the recent earthquake and a stochastic synthesis of site-specific ground acceleration for hypothetical earthquakes produced by the same fault associated with the event of 12 June.
