Public policy on urban time and quality of life

This article deals with public policy on time considered as a collective issue related to the organisation of social time. It attempts to establish a general framework for analyzing public policy on free-time from an urban perspective. Since current literature provides no such framework, this process entails critical analysis of the fundamental aspects of recent writings. This emerging area of interest requires a synthesis of the theory of current sociology of work which now embodies the notion of free-time in an attempt to help grasp the complexity of the situation.
