摘要
In the traditional English classroom, generally, teachers ask questions and students answer them. Under this circumstance, students accept knowledge passively and their creative thinking ability cannot be improved. With the deepening thinking of new teaching methods and analysis of students' English learning situation in private colleges, we have to reconsider the roles that teachers and students play in the classroom so as to increase students' learning effects and efficiency. Improving college English classroom question-raising ability is one of the focuses of current college English teaching innovation. High quality question-raising ability in class requires the improvement of students' communicative ability and comprehensive cognitive ability. This thesis shows those cultivating college students' comprehensive cognitive abilities, including cognitive ability, memorizing ability, thinking ability and language ability is the effective way to improve students' classroom question-raising ability in private colleges.
