摘要：
This paper examines human potential, characteristics and mind. It defines creativity and innovation and qualities of creative people. The paper describes two Value Engineering techniques, Function Analysis and FAST Diagramming and how they structure thinking to generate ideas. Undirected creativity is of little worth. Purposeful creativity compounds benefits to both originator and recipients. Those points are demonstrated by an exercise. The paper describes typical scenarios encountered daily that offer opportunities for invention... They will be examined as time permits to practice visualization of creative ideas, problems ideas generate, cures for those problems and conversion to workable solutions.
