Ultrasound-assisted extraction and purification of taurine from bovine liver

摘要
This study aimed to develop a simple and effective extraction method for taurine in bovine liver through ultrasonic-assisted traditional boiling. Different operating conditions, including liquid-to-solid ratio (1:3-1:7), ultrasonic time (5-25 min), and ultrasonic power (150-300 W) were optimized through single-factor experiments and response surface methodology. Taurine extraction yield was 6.17 +/- 0.17 mg/g when the liquid-to-solid ratio was 1:4 mL/g, ultrasonic time was 12 min, and ultrasonic power was 205 W. The regression coefficient of the model established through Design-Expert software was greater than 99%, and the maximum error from the verification experiments results was less than 2%, indicating good credibility. The time under ultrasonic-assisted extraction was 5-7 times lower than that for traditional boiling. Results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) showed that the extracted taurine has the absorption peaks of -NH2 and S-O3H, which are consistent with the infrared absorption peak and NMR of the taurine standard. The proposed ultrasonic-assisted traditional boiling method for taurine extraction from bovine liver could effectively reduce the extraction time and could be applied to industrial production.
