摘要
The study analysed willingness to pay for improved water supply by households in Coimbatore District, Tamilnadu. A multistage sampling method viz., systematic, stratified, proportionate random techniques was used to select sample villages. 342 sample households were selected across 4 taluks, 3 blocks, 4 village Panchayats and 31 habitations. Method of data analysis involved the use of descriptive statistics and linear regression for the household sampled. The linear regression estimates, revealed that the family size and LPCD that a household is willing to pay for additional water supply and the willing to pay for connection charges to the improved source are statically significant at P > 0.05 leveL The coefficient of willingness to pay from family size and LPCD are negative, this reveals that decrease in family size and LPCD will increase the proportion of households would be willing to pay for improved water supply.
