摘要
A estrutura da matriz energetica brasileira define o Brasil coma lider mundial na geracdo eletrica a partir de fontes renovaveis. Em 2011, a participacao de fontes renovaveis na producao de eletricidade atingiu 88,8%, principalmente gracas ao grande pothncial hidrico nacional. Ainda que o modelo energetic brasileiro apresente urn forte potencial de expansa-o, o total de energia que poderia ser aproveitada corn tecnologias renovaveis, mais atuais, supera em muitas vezes a demanda nacional. A composicao atual da matrix energetica nacional tern destacada participacao da energia hidraulica, ainda que o pals tenha grande potencial para exploracao de outras fontes de energias renovaveis, coma a ealica, a solar e a biomassa. Este documento refere-se, portanto, a tendencia de evolucao da Matrix Energetica Brasileira e expoe cenarios provaveis de mitigacao, considerando tambem as mudancas climaticas. A metodologia a ser utilizada na modelagem inclui a aplicacao do programa LEAP (Sistema de Planejamento Energetic de alternativas de Longo Prazo), desenvolvido pelo Institut Ambiental de Estocolmo, que permite a proposicao de diferentes cenarios sob a definicao de cenarios socioeconomicos e base de energia, desenvolvido no contexto do projeto REGSA - Promoting Renewable Electricity Generation in South America. Os resultados vislumbram possibilidades de cenarios futuros e tendencias na geracao de energia no Brasil, alem de projecoes de demanda e de oferta de eletricidade para ate o ano 2030.
