摘要
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) have been used to study radiation effects in 200 MeV Au ion-irradiated InP single crystals. The observations reveal the presence of individual tracks of intermittent nature about 10nm in diameter. The track cores are not amorphous in nature. AFM reveals a pronounced increase in surface roughness following the inelastic collision-induced amorphization which progress through the overlap of individual tracks forming amorphous zones.
