In this paper, we have proposed an identification method that the equivalent material damping parameters of textile composites are obtained by finite element analysis and nonlinear optimization methods. The proposed method has been applied to the plain woven fabric composites. Simulation study has been conducted to evaluate the validity of the proposed method. It is recognized that the computational results of equivalent model have agreed with the heterogeneous model.
