摘要
Fourteen mosses are reported from Baltic amber (Eocene). The specimens consist of extinct species of recent genera or recent species (predominantly with phytogeographical relations to E-Asia). Some can only be attributed to recent genera or families, some only to form genera. The extant species found in Baltic amber are epiphytes, which are found today in temperate to subtropical regions of E-Asia. Hypnodontopsis lingulata J.-P. FRAHM and Brachytheciites veltenii J.-P. FRAHM are described as new. Dicranites casparyi G.A. KLEBS is placed in the genus Hypnodontopsis. A key is given for all five fossil species of Hypnodontopsis. This genus consists of four exclusively extinct species; one is known from fossil material and has been found twice in Mexico and Uganda, another species is only known extant from Japan.
