摘要
Intramolecular transesterification of a bifunctional 1,1-disubstituted monomer, poly(ethyl-α-hydroxymethacrylate), prepared via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization was analyzed. The molecular weight of the polymer formed was higher than that predicted theoretically, because of the occurrence of hybrid behavior. The transesterification was carried out at three temperatures such as 90, 110, and 150°C. It was found that with increasing temperature, the rate of the forward reaction increases and the rate of back reaction decreases.
