摘要
The composition dependence of boson peak for modified borate glasses was measured using Raman scattering spectroscopy. For caesium and barium borate glasses, the peak frequency of boson peak is almost independent of the composition. While for lithium borate glass, it depends markedly on composition. The correlation between boson peak frequency and shear modulus determined by sound velocity was discussed in these glasses. It was concluded that the boson peak of modified borate glasses originates from a damped harmonic oscillator as a localized torsional mode of a cluster of medium-range. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
