摘要
This paper considers the spatial modelling of uncertainties in soil geotechnical parameters in the engineering design of earth fill structures. The use of random field theory and the stochastic finite element method (SFEM) will be described specifically the use of these techniques to model uncertainty in geotechnical properties of compacted soil masses. The paper focuses on the importance of conditional random fields which take into account supplementary data during the construction phase of earth fills.
