Development of a curvature correction method for the k-ε turbulence model

摘要
A new curvature correction method for the k-epsilon turbulence model will be presented. The correction is based on a curvature indicator, which is defined by a invariant of the velocity gradient tensor and is therefore applicable to general 3-dimensional flow problems in an arbitrary frame of reference. In the limit of 2-dimensional flow with weak curvature, the parameter is equivalent to the turbulent Richardson number. The basis for the presented work is the commercial CFD-Software package CfX-TfC [1].
