摘要
KSF-montmorillonite (KSF-Na+) reacted with protonated dodecylamine resulting in an intercalated hybrid material (KSF-DP). The pristine and modified solids were characterized by using CHN elemental analysis, thermogravimetry (TG) and FTIR spectroscopy. The solids were tested for the retention of Remazol brilliant blue R from aqueous solution using batch methods. The effects of the dosage of adsorbent, the contact time, the initial dye concentration, the pH, and, the temperature at the liquid/solid interface were investigated. Both kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the adsorption process were obtained. The data indicated that the adsorption process is an exothermic and spontaneous reaction that proceeds kinetically according to a pseudo-second-order model. The results suggest that modified KSF-montmorillonite could be employed as a low-cost material for the removal of anionic dyes from aqueous solutions. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
