摘要
The experiments were conducted during 2001-03 rainy (kharif) season to find out the effect of prolong droughts of 15 days at different crop growth stages of pearlmillet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R.Br. emend. Stuntz]. Tillering stage (3045 days after sowing) is the most susceptible to drought wherein 28-30% of yield reductions occurred, followed by drought at grain-filling and maturity stage. The study showed that even with 103 mm of rainfall having drought at establishment stage gave about 1.4 tonnes/ha grain yield of pearl millet with little improvement in moisture supply, the application of improved agro techniques, the yield of pearlmillet can reach up to 2.4 tonnes/ha.
