摘要
With regards to the Internet and informational society global development, there is the confirmation of the tendency of transposing many activities into the virtual space, common and accessible to anyone, anywhere and at any time. From socialization and communication between people to easy everyday business activities due to facile information access, the Internet has become a vital factor for personal and professional development. This led to the appearance of a vast diversification of applications and platforms, specially created for every activity and industry. Music Industry has as well, been developing at great speeds in the last 20 years and it changed the way today music is listened, purchased and even produced. Powerful global Internet connections made the distribution of music instant and in an immaterial form. Millions of users use different social media tools like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Youtube, etc. to combine and interact with the music industry and its dedicated platforms like Soundcloud, Mixcloud, etc. The paper makes an introduction of the online artist selection platform concept "Play Artist". This is a platform that introduces for the first time producers, Internet users and radio stations for a natural selection and mentoring of the young talents in music from Romania.
