摘要
Resin-metal bond fine grit diamond wheels with electrolytic conditioning are proposed for ultra-precision grinding which simultaneously demands high form accuracy and low surface roughness. The fine grit diamond wheels are made of resin bond with metal powder additives. After dressing, the metal additives on the wheel surface are eroded away by electrolytic treatment. As a result, a thin layer on the wheel surface possesses the properties similar to those of a porous resin bond wheel to achieve better surface finish, while the inner of the wheel remains a resin-metal bond structure to ensure the form accuracy. In this study, the approach to the electrolytic conditioning of resin-metal bond fine grit diamond wheels is described, experiments of electrolytic conditioning and grinding are carried out and the phenomena of the experiments are discussed.
