Hot-wire anemometry behaviour at very high frequencies

摘要
It is shown that most of the present-day hot-wire anemometers have a limitation at high frequencies: namely that the tail of the power spectrum of the anemometer output signal has a spurious rise with frequency. This rise, which is proportional to the square of frequency (f(2)), is of great concern when one deals with small-scale measurements in high-Reynolds-number flows.
