摘要
We present a series of experiments on the motion of grain boundaries in zinc during inward cadmium diffusion. Diffusion induced grain boundary migration is shown to occur in a hexagonal metal, for the first time. Using the cylindrical symmetry of the elastic constants in hexagonal crystals, we are able to investigate the applicability of the coherency-strain model and the influence of grain boundary structure, independently.
