Finite element analysis of R/C I-beam using solid element

摘要
It is well known that the shear strength of I-beam is influenced by the ratio of the flange width to web width. In this paper, we proposed the finite element procedure considering three-dimensional solid element to evaluate the behavior and examined load carrying capacities of I-beam. The test beams have no shear reinforcements and the ratio of the flange width to the web width varies from 3.0 to 6.0. The test beams are the same as the analytical models. To confirm the efficiency of the numerical procedure, four R/C I-beams are tested. Both results are in good agreement in the elastic range. And the shear capacity of the I-beam tends to grow with the ratio of the flange width to web width.
