摘要
The residual strength of fibre reinforced metal laminates (FRMLs) containing a sharp notch was investigated using an effective crack growth model (ECGM). Damage in constituent materials was modelled by fictitious cracks with cohesive stress acting on the crack surfaces and damage growth was simulated by extension of the fictitious cracks and reduction of the cohesive stress with crack opening. Effects of metal layer, type of fibre and fracture toughness of composite layer on residual strength of notched FRMLs were studied. The notched strength behaviour of FRMLs simulated by ECGM is correlated well with experimental data in open literature.
