摘要
Persistent pulmonary hypertension of newborns (PPHN) is a hemodynamic disorder characterized by vasoconstriction of the pulmonary arteries. Inhalation of Nitric oxide (NO) inhalation is an effective but expensive treatment of PPHN. NO is also released during the metabolism of L-arginin. The aim of our study was to analyze the effects of repeated infusions of L-arginin on gas exchange, alveolo-arterial difference (AaDO(2)) and oxygenation index of newborns with PPHN. Four newborns were treated with 12 bells of L-arginin. The results indicate that L-arginin infusion in newborn with PPHN induces a statistically significant increase of arterial ox gen tension (PO2), and decrease of AaDO2 and OI. Repeated bells may increase these effects.
