摘要
The structural design of shotcrete linings has conventionally resulted in the specification of a shotcrete 'thickness' with the implicit assumption that the shotcrete is a prismatic layer of uniform thickness. A new concept of 'shotcrete cover technique' is proposed. This concept abandons the so-called 'thickness' in favour of a more formal specification of 'shotcrete cover dimensions' which allows rock surface irregularities to be explicitly accounted for in the design of shotcrete linings.
