Reflection on the Post-earthquake Reconstruction Planning: A Case Study of Wenchuan Earthquake

A number of post-earthquake reconstruction planning programs organized by the governments at different levels have been conducted soon after the Wenchuan earthquake, which laid a foundation to post-disaster recovery afterwards. This paper briefly reviews the organization approach and overall ideas of the Wenchuan earthquake reconstruction planning. And some basic methods and strategy of the recovery are also discussed from different aspects on the basis of summing up the three different stages of post-disaster planning. This gives us a reference to coping with the catastrophes potentially to occur in the future.
