摘要
Automatic ball balancers (ABBs) have shown good performance in suppressing vibration in planar eccentric rotors. All relevant studies assume that the plane of the circular track of the balls of ABB needs to be mounted perpendicular to the spindle. However, in practical applications, assembly deviations are always unavoidable. Since no discussion about the deviation angle has been seen, in this paper a new model is established to explore the system of a planar eccentric rotor equipped with a skew-mounted ABB. First, the angular positions of the balls and their restriction conditions when the vibration of the system is completely suppressed are analyzed, and the theory to examine whether the ABB is skew-mounted is obtained. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to verify the theoretical model and to compare the characteristics and differences in suppressing the unbalanced vibration of the system between the conditions of ideal and skewed mounted ABB.
