摘要
In 1973, with the aid of the Pioneer 10 spacecraft, it was discovered that the Jovian (Jupiter) magnetosphere at 5 AU is a relatively strong source of electrons with energies up to even similar to 100 MeV. The most recent direct observational confirmation was in 1992 with the Ulysses spacecraft. These particles dan be detected at Earth (1 AU) and may be convected outward to the solar wind termination shock where it could undergo diffusive shock acceleration to reach higher energies. To investigate this scenario, we used our shock acceleration/modulation model to study the acceleration of galactic and Jovian electrons at the termination shock. Emphasis is also placed on a possible upper-limit for the contribution of Jovian electrons to the modulated galactic electron spectra measured in the inner-heliospheric regions with the Ulysses spacecraft.
