摘要:
In this paper two lecturers at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (V.G.T.U.) will overview some of the academic activities within Geodesy and Cartography, Cadastre and English from the aspect of whether these courses cover a holistic approach towards preparing graduates from its higher education institution in preparation for the work market and the present day requirements of employers in Lithuania and the professional requirements of V.G.T.U. lecturers. Secondly, the paper will include some trends locally and globally in Environmental Engineering education with a view to analyzing what has been done and then suggest what may be tried in the future as educational alternatives that could be adapted within Lithuanian and European Union education institutions. Finally, the paper will report on the uniqueness of a pilot program in English that is running now at V.G.T.U. until April 2005, the methods applied and some of the findings as a result of the program. Sessions are based on Edward De Bono's Cort Thinking program and other books/texts by other authors.
