摘要
The engagement motor time (EMT) is one of the most taken into account criteria when evaluating a quality Physical Education class. The main objective of this review paper is to collect the average values of EMT in the Physical Education lessons, as well as to highlight the importance of unifying criteria when obtaining and publishing the results. For this purpose, 65 articles are selected in a systematic search using the following databases Dialnet, Google Scholar, Scopus, Redalyc and Pubmed. The results show a growing interest in this subject, due to the increase in research in recent years. On the other hand, the average values of 36.35% of EMT are still far from the national and international recommendations. In spite of these data, a progressive improvement of the EMT can be observed in the most recent studies. It is necessary to continue investigating about new variables that could be affecting the EMT and to bet for the elaboration of programs that promote the EMT in Physical Education lessons as well as in the educational institutions.
