Ricceur and Multiple Durations

In this paper I intend to investigate the conflicts of memory and I set up, as a starting point, a free reading of Bergson's and Ricoeur's works, within an effort to clarify, from a contemporary perspective, the issues they refer to. The analysis of the conflicts of memory and duration was split up into three parts: the first one refers to the metaphysical grounds of conflictuality among different durations; the second one is related to the aesthetical dimensions of this conflictuality within tragedy and novels; the third one bears upon the forgiving and forgetting as forms of collision among different durations.
