Variable-speed Variable-pitch Coordinated Control Strategy of Wind Turbine Ramping Power

摘要
Integrated wind power of large scale and high concentration will increase the risk of wind ramping. In the ramping wind speed, small fluctuations of wind speed will lead to high power volatility of wind turbine, and then result in ramping events of large wind farm groups. To reduce this power volatility, while maintaining moderate economic efficiency, a variable-speed variable-pitch coordinated control strategy of wind turbine ramping power is proposed. This strategy consists of wind power prediction module, online optimization module and feedback control module. The traditional power ratio limitation is replaced by the optimization of both ramping rate and power generation. A new access to the reference pitch angle is proposed, which realizes the coordination of variable speed and variable pitch. The simulation adopts the GE 1.5MW wind turbine model and wind data from Irish power system. The results show that the strategy can improve the rotor speed characteristics of wind turbine, reduce the wind power volatility, and increase the power generation.
