Nonlinear vibration of SDOF magnetic levitation system

Vertical vibration isolating is an intractable subject because of the conflict of large stiffness in supporting upper structure and well flexible in interdicting ground motion. In order to coordinate this contradiction, a new strategy of vibration isolating is proposed by using maglev technique, and the governing equation of single freedom magnetic levitation system is derived in this paper. The response to harmonic ground motion, free vibration, and isolation effect are studied by using numerical approach. The results indicate that the magnetic levitation system has excellent effective on isolating vertical ground motion,when the frequency of the excitation grate than 3 Hz and the static suspension height ranges from 6 mm to 1 mm. The system has well energy dissipation ability although there is no complementary damping. The most vertical vibration may be interdicted by using magnetic levitation system.
