(1) The Clinical Trials Directive (1), by impeding epidemiological surveillance ofnewcontactallergens, makes it impossible for clinicians to try to at least partly compensate for the deficiencies of the EU Regulation on Cosmetics. (2) The negative impact of the Clinical Trials Directive (its intended revision included) on consumers' and workers' welfare and health is significant. © 2011 John Wiley & Sons A/S.
