摘要
This work proposes a model-based system for anatomic segmentation of mammograms. The system consists of a modeling suite - incorporating knowledge about the breast tissue characteristics, compression effects, and mammogram acquisition process - and an image processing suite - containing operators which capture various tissue characteristics. Once a segmentation task is specified, appropriate operators are invoked, based on the information from the modeling suite. Proposed approach is illustrated on the problem of detection of ductal network.
