摘要
Linear motors are becoming more attractive than conventional rotating motors for applications like industrial automation, large-scale bulk materials transport, train propulsion, and machine tools. Major Linear motors used for such applications are Linear Induction Motors (LIM), Linear Synchronous motors (LSM), Linear Synchronous Reluctance Motors(LSRM), and Linear Brushless Motors(LBLM). LIMs are preferred for high acceleration applications like spacecraft propulsion application, magnetic levitation, and monorail. Linear induction motors (LIMs) have been used in urban railway transportation because of their simple stator structure and high velocity. However, the disadvantage of LIM is the end effect and the losses like eddy current losses and copper losses. The project is focused on the mathematical modelling of LIM using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The closed-loop operation of LIM using field-oriented control(FOC) is simulated and performance curves are plotted.
