摘要
Apply it! Exercise selection for fitness clients is often based on tradition and experience of the fitness professional. With the growing prevalence of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injury, exercise selection practices should be updated and diversified to accommodate a diverse population. Evidence-based alternative exercises are presented for several traditional movements commonly used by fitness enthusiasts. These alternative exercises can be performed with minimal risk while promoting similar, and in some cases more beneficial, training effects. © 2017 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
