摘要
In this paper an on-line model for fermentation processes is used in order to gain maximal amount of information about the process. The model is mainly based on atom and partial mass balances. To enhance model-based control of fed-batch processes, the model was given an adaptive form by including kinetic expressions. A practical MS-Windows model implementation called Fermentation Monitoring and Modeling System - FMMS is presented. This system includes a flexible charting feature which has proven very useful for model development and as a tool to evaluate and to gain a deeper understanding of the studied processes. Here the FMMS is applied on runs with three different micro-organisms. Copyright (C) 1998 IFAC.
