Bigger is better! Large-size octupolar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons can be used as new two-photon absorption (TPA) chromophores with large TPA cross sections for optical power limiting (see graphic). © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
