摘要
In the context of the PhD in Humanities, Humanism and Person of the University of San Buenaventura, in the emphasis of psychology on self-determination and human development, segregation and exclusion as underlying phenomena in the school that restrict the possibilities of students to achieve a full human development, are a reason for study. This article proposes to present a theoretical approach to self-determination considered as a psychological dimension that contributes to a humanistic vision of development in educational contexts, under the consideration of diversity and otherness as consubstantial elements to the person. The exhibition concludes that self-determination allows children an understanding of free and voluntary human action as a process to build roads that lead to human development and to participate in a full life, so that human dignity prevails in their lives. actions and decisions
