Experimental study on 30 kW wind turbine/10kW diesel engine hybrid system in Vietnam

摘要
In this study, a hybrid power system for the area without a grid connection is developed. The hybrid power system developed in this study can supply 5kW electric power with both wind energy and diesel power. The test turbine is a 3 bladed horizontal axis wind turbine. The rotor diameter is 10m. The maximum output is 30kW. The output control system is full-span pitch control. The rotor is high efficiency type with a special blade tip, Mie-vane. It increases the rotor output 10%-20% compare to the rotor without Mie-vane. A diesel power is used to supply the power to make up a deficit in weak wind. This hybrid system is installed in coastal area near Hanoi for feasibility studies. In this paper, the detail of hybrid system and operational data are shown.
