A study on simulation and control scheme of limited bandwidth active vehicle suspension

摘要
This paper introduces a limited bandwidth active vehicle suspension, which is also called slow-active suspension. Structurally its hydraulic actuator controlled by a servo valve is in series with passive components. In this paper, a mathematical model of quarter vehicle with the active suspension is presented, including the model of the electrohydraulic servo system in detail. The system controller is designed based on the practical output feedback control scheme. Three types of feedback methods are compared to obtain the most practical one. Besides, the introduced active suspention is simulated by Simulink for the vehicle running on stastical random road as well as on bump road. In conclusion, ride comfort of the vehicle with the limited bandwidth active suspension can be improved effectively.
